The inaugural flight was welcomed with a celebratory reception at New Alamein International Airport, carrying a group of tourists eager to experience Egypt’s diverse tourism offerings, particularly New Alamein City, which has emerged in recent years as one of the Mediterranean region’s leading tourism and investment destinations.
The launch of the new route forms part of Air Cairo’s ongoing efforts to support inbound tourism to Egypt by expanding direct travel options and increasing tourist flows to destinations across the country, particularly its fast-growing coastal resorts, which continue to witness rising demand from European and regional markets.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Hussein Sherif, Chairman of Air Cairo, stated that the launch of direct flights between Yerevan and New Alamein represents a valuable addition to the airline’s route network and reflects the growing appeal of Egypt as a tourism destination in international markets.
Mr. Sherif added that the new service has been introduced in response to the increasing demand for travel to Egypt from the Armenian market. He noted that Air Cairo continues to implement its expansion strategy while exploring additional international destinations that support Egypt’s national objectives of boosting tourism and strengthening air connectivity with high-potential markets.
He further emphasized that Air Cairo remains committed to providing convenient, reliable, and direct travel services that meet passengers’ expectations while supporting the continued growth of Egypt’s tourism sector.
