Important Announcement: For Minors traveling from Egypt

Effective January 1, 2024, new regulations will be enforced for Egyptian minors traveling from Egypt. These regulations aim to improve the safety and security of young travelers while also streamlining the travel experience.

Unaccompanied minors (aged 6–18):

  • Prior permission is required from the Communication Department of the Egyptian General Administration of Passports, Immigration, and Nationality.
  • Completed unaccompanied minor forms, signed by authorized guardians, must be submitted along with permission requests.
  • An authorized guardian must accompany the child to the departure airport and hand them over to Air Cairo personnel.
  • Parents or guardians must meet the child upon arrival at the destination airport.

Traveling with a Guardian:

  • Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.
  • Children between the ages of 6 and 12 who are traveling with a guardian must have valid birth certificates or national IDs.

These regulations apply to all Egyptian minors, regardless of their destination.

Airlines may have additional requirements for unaccompanied minors. Please check with your chosen airline for further details.
